中国电影《水饺皇后》由刘伟强执导，马丽领衔主演、惠英红、朱亚文友情特别出演，改编自香港水饺品牌“湾仔码头”创始人臧健和的生平经历。
1970年代，来自青岛的女性“臧建和”（马丽饰）被迫带着两个女儿离开家乡。为了养家糊口，她白天洗碗、晚上洗车，孤苦无依，独自承受生活的巨大压力。她不甘命运摆布，决心靠卖水饺谋生。
从最初门可罗雀，到逐渐走向兴旺，她一路获得了“刚硬中带温情”的“红姐”（惠英红饰）、“华哥”（朱亚文饰）和“甜品叔”（袁富华饰）的大力支持。凭借坚毅不屈的精神，她的水饺生意蒸蒸日上，人生也渐渐迎来新希望……
